The initial appearance of the GT-R Skyline occurred in February 1969 with the introduction of the PGC-10 (later KPGC-10 for the coupé version), affectionately known as Hakosuka among enthusiasts. Powering it was the 2.0 L (1998 cc) S20 inline-six engine, a double overhead camshaft design crafted by former Prince engineers. This engine delivered 160 hp (119 kW) and 180 N⋅m (133 lb⋅ft) of torque, resembling the GR8 engine utilized in the Prince R380 racing car.

Initially conceived as a sedan, the GT-R expanded to include a 2-door coupé variant unveiled in October 1970 and officially launched in March 1971. These vehicles underwent significant weight reduction by removing non-essential components to optimize their performance on the racing circuit. The sedan achieved 33 victories within a brief span, while the coupé extended this to 50 by the end of 1972.

This model kit requires assembly and painting. Cement, tools, and paint are not provided. It contains small parts and is recommended for individuals aged 14 and older, with a skill level rating of 3. THIS IS NOT A TOY.

Included in the kit are decals for enhanced detailing and realism, ensuring an authentic appearance. The parts are meticulously crafted from textured plastic to simulate various materials. Illustrated assembly instructions and a painting guide are also included to assist model builders.
